Peace Meal Senior Nutrition Program
Peace Meal Senior Nutrition Program provides more than 1,600 meals a day throughout a 14-county region in Illinois. The meals contain one-third of the daily adult nutritional requirements and are served in congregate settings or home delivered.
Established in 1974, Peace Meal improves the nutritional status of older adults through the provision of meals, nutrition assessment, nutrition education, food safety instruction and information about other community services.
Anyone age 60 or older, with spouse regardless of age, is eligible to participate in Peace Meal.
Peace Meal requests a donation of $3.50 per meal. Participants are encouraged to contribute as they are able but no one will be turned away based on an inability to donate.
