Dump and Run Collections Volunteer

Description

Dump and Run is a community recycling program that keeps over 20 tons of used, quality goods out of Champaign-Urbana’s dumpsters and landfills each year. Every year during student move out, we collect items from the dorms and apartments, sort them, and pack them away for the big sale in August.

Volunteers help pick up items from dorms, drive our trucks, or sort items back at the Stock Pavilion.

Please wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.  We will provide you with a green Dump & Run t-shirt.  Volunteers will be responsible for collecting, carrying, and sorting items. This can be physically intensive and requires a moderate level of mobility.  If you need accommodations or are concerned if this volunteer opportunity is right for you, please contact dumpandrun@universityymca.org or call (217) 337-1500
