Girl Scouts of Central Illinois In-School Programs
Short on time but big on impact? Our series opportunities are the perfect fit! These series opportunities typically happen during the school day for 6 weeks, either when the girls have lunch or right after school. Girl Scouts of Central Illinois offers a variety of in-school programs for girls in grades K12. Schools and parents are often overwhelmed with day-to-day activities, and GSCIs in-school programs help to ensure that girls get a strong foundation. No matter what the theme, our school programs help todays girls become tomorrows leaders. In-school program topics include self-esteem, environmental education, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), community service and bully prevention. How you can help*: In-school volunteers are needed to help set up and facilitate sessions. Frequency: Date and location depend on the needs of a given school; usually 4-to-6 one-hour sessions are offered per school. Time commitment: Typically a half hour of prep is ideal, plus a 1-hour session, 4-6 times. * Training and application are required. Please contact Kate Clark, Program Series Specialist, at firstname.lastname@example.org and/or 217-280-3511 (call or text) with any questions.
