The Salvation Army is looking for a volunteer who is interested in participating in our Youth Basketball Ministry Program. This is an open gym opportunity for youths in the area. In this position we watch over youth participants during their after school activities as well as provide ministry to those in need.

East Central Illinois Youth for Christ serves Middle School and High School Students through a Friday Night Midnight Basketball Program. Every Friday night from 8 to 11 pm YFC has 2 different local gyms open where up to 75 urban teens join us for an organized basketball tournament. YFC is looking for volunteers to partner with us in this exciting ministry.
Single Moms' Morning Out is a community outreach event held at First Christian Church Champaign to provide a day of pampering for single moms in our community. The event will be held Saturday, April 29 from 9am-1pm. We are going to bless the socks off of 100 single moms with an amazing event and we need YOUR HELP to make it happen! Areas to volunteer are Abundant Blessing (free garage sale), car wash, car care, childcare, set-up, clean up, and others. Licensed hair stylists and manicurists are also needed!
A young organization based in the Park Avenue SDA Church, we are commited to helping the Champaign-Urbana community and sharing the love of Christ. Our ministries include visits to local nursing homes, handing out meals to low income areas, and partcipating in the Christmas Angel Tree program in December. In recent months the Wesley Evening Food Pantry has expanded to include a second branch located at Parkland college to accommodate its students as well as the greater community. The Wesley Pantry at Parkland is run by volunteers under the direction of Katie Thomas every Wednesday of each month and every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Volunteer opportunities happen throughout each month.
Food Distribution. Volunteers needed to assist clients with registration and personal shopping. There are also opportunities for cleanup. Food Distribution requires a one-time orientation.
Educational Radio Station that provides broadcasts and events to benefit the communities throughout east-central Illinois and a monthly publication called the PrimeLife Times that provides content that's informative, engaging and possitive.
