One Winter Night 2018

One Winter Night is an annual event that provides a powerful opportunity for our community to learn about homelessness, raise awareness for our friends without an address, and experience a bit of what it might be like to be outside, overnight, in the coldest part of a Central Illinois Winter.

Champaign County Regional Planning Commission's Head Start/Early Head Start Program

The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission provides quality integrated services to income-eligible families in Early Head Start which serves infants, toddlers, and expectant parents and Head Start which serves three to five year old children.  Head Start services are designed to meet the needs of the children and families within the cultural context of their family, school, and community.  Families participating in the program receive assistance with early childhood education and disability services, social services, connection to community resources, health services (medical, dental

Mentor youth

We need volunteers to assist with activities, crafts, model appropriate beviour, and mentor youth.  Hours available for volunteers are between the hours of 7:30 am and 6:00 pm and scheduling is flexible within those hours. 

Adventists in Action

A young organization based in the Park Avenue SDA Church, we are commited to helping the Champaign-Urbana community and sharing the love of Christ. Our ministries include visits to local nursing homes, handing out meals to low income areas, and partcipating in the Christmas Angel Tree program in December. We are always looking out for new ways to serve our community! Please contact us if you have suggestions or if you would like to volunteer or donate to our cause.

Not Your Average Joe 5K/5Mi

Twenty-five years, over 12,000 runners and more than $166,000 raised. The 25th annual Human Kinetics Not Your Average Joe 5K/5Mi takes place on Saturday, May 14th at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana, beginning at 9:00 a.m.  The race celebrates the life of Joe Seeley, a former Human Kinetics employee who died of leukemia in 2012. Seeley devoted considerable time and energy to the annual charity race and to the Champaign-Urbana running community.
