Champaign Farmers Market Volunteer

The Market is opening on May 19th and we need all hands on deck! This year at the Market will be very different than past seasons and in order to keep our market as safe as possible we need your help. We are looking for 9 volunteers each week. There are 3 shifts available for each market day (1-6 pm, 3-6 pm, 3-8 pm) and we need 3 volunteers for each shift!

Start-Bright Organization

An educational program that help young girls thrive by highlighting their strengths, offering a uniquely enhanced experience, which integrates professionals from multiple fields, and providing life skills development through workshops.

Workshops are held twice a month on Saturdays (10am-2pm) starting in May 2020!

How do we highlight their strengths?​
-Our goal is to help children identify their strengths, build confidence and encourage them to discover what they bring to the world.​

Volunteers Needed for the disAbility Resource Expo!

The DisABILITY Resource Expo relies on the involvement of numerous volunteers, to continue its impact as an exciting, community-wide activity. Volunteers are needed to serve on various planning committees leading up to the event, and many more are needed on event-weekend, helping with set-up, greeting exhibitors and guests, supervising Childrens’ Activities, assisting guests/exhibitors/entertainers, and helping with tear-down, clean-up, & move-out at event completion.

Volunteer Lunch & Learn Series: Woman Suffrage & Women's Rights Museum Exhibit Sneak Peek

Both current and new volunteers are welcome to join us for our Volunteer Lunch & Learn series! Bring lunch and a friend to learn more about volunteer opportunities and what CCFPD has to offer. Museum of the Grand Prairie staff will join us to discuss its upcoming exhibit, How Long Must Women Wait? Woman Suffrage and Women’s Rights in Champaign County. Get a sneak preview of this exhibit and learn about the work going into its completion! Light refreshments and beverages will be available.

Museum Docent Workshop/Training

Do you have a passion for history and want to pass it onto others? The Museum of the Grand Prairie is looking for volunteers to be part of our new Museum Docent program! Attend this training session and workshop to learn how you can become a museum docent and lead tour groups through museum exhibits. Participants will receive an outline of the program and exhibit study sources, as well as tips & tricks to lead an engaging museum tour. If you cannot attend this workshop/training, another session is available February 2nd.

The Next Peace: A Gathering Promoting Peace

A neighborhood-based event promoting peace and anti-violence. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help create a welcoming environment bringing neighbors together for a free, family-friendly event that includes music, poetry and art-making activities designed around the theme of peace.

Flannel Fest 2019

Get your flannel ready and join us for an evening of fun fall festivities! Watch the Timberwork’s Lumberjack Show perform demonstrations throughout the evening including log rolling, axe throwing, and speed carving. Enjoy music, art, games, crafts, food trucks, Lumberjack Dash, and much more at this fall event!

Dump & Run Sale Setup Volunteer

Dump and Run is a community recycling program that keeps over 20 tons of used, quality goods out of Champaign-Urbana’s dumpsters and landfills each year. Every year following our May collections period, we unload our storage trucks in August and begin setup for our Big Sale on, this year on August 24 and 25.

Volunteers help unload trucks and help sort, tag and price items for the sale.
