The Immigration Project

The Immigration Project provides access to quality legal services in Central and Southern Illinois where there are estimated to be 100,000 immigrants residing.  Due to  the complexity of immigration law, we have found that access to quality legal services is essential to keeping families united, building strong communities, and protecting victims of crime.

On-going tutoring at time agreed on by Project READ staff and tutor

Once a tutor has completed training, he/she will be matched with an individual adult learner or with a classroom. This is determined by the tutor's interest, availability, and proximity to a tutoring site. We ask for the tutors to work in a classroom or with an individual learner at least two hours per week. Classes meet several times/week, M-F at Parkland College, Urbana Adult Ed or the Regional Office of Education in Rantoul, including weekday evenings. The tutor may chose which class time works best for them.

Money Mentor Upcoming Training

Money Mentor volunteers build financial capacity in our local communities by providing financial education and coaching to individuals. Mentoring consists of working one-on-one with people who have asked for help with their personal finances and community outreach through displays, community talks, or other projects.
